Welcome to Prescribing Reality: the site where everything’s made up and the points don’t matter! Well, not entirely true…

You see, reality is based on our perception of the world. In other words, everything that we come in contact with is filtered through our brain and our understanding of how things work. For example, I know that the inside of a watermelon is reddish-pink. But if I were colorblind, I would know that the inside of a watermelon is light gray. However, once someone explains to me how colorblindness works, reality suddenly changes, and the inside of watermelons become reddish-pink.

Every day people are exposed to thousands of messages created by marketers trying to sell goods and services. These advertisements are designed specifically to create ideas about a company’s product before you know about. They prescribe your reality. And it works, too. Every year we spend trillions of dollars because very clever people shape the way we think.

So, nothing here is made up, but all that glitters is not gold.

All of the ideas and opinions expressed in this blog are my own. They do not reflect the beliefs of another party unless otherwise noted. …Yeah, that should cover me.
